Band T-Shirt Reconstructed Designs in Poofhawk's Future

Because Spring is not so far away, I've been designing products made from lightweight knits. Originally, I had a true love of using very thick and non traditional fabrics for my designs, but I realized that I myself, wear more garments made out of a knit fabric rather than a woven. And knits such as jersey, french terry, and even interlock, are extremely comfortable for the hotter weather.

So, over the past few weeks I've been patternmaking some designs made for knits. Some of these designs, I soon come to realize, would be great for band t-shirt reconstruction! Some people just like to use tailor's chalk and cut their patterns right from a t-shirt for reconstruction, I'm a little different. Even though, I do use that technique every once and a while, I more or less enjoy actually drafting a pattern first, than using said pattern to cut out pieces from the t-shirt. For example, I recently did a tutorial on how to make a heavy metal halter from a men's t-shirt that can be found HERE.

Anyways, because of my new love, I do plan on listing some band t-shirts reconstructed designs in the future, of my favorite band such as these (and many more):

If there are any bands you would like to see some dresses or halter tops made with, please let me know in the comment box below!!

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz) Lip Sing

I'm not usually into Rap or Hip-Hop but I immediately feel in love with this song when my husband sent it to me while on deployment. He said it was on the radio everyday and it reminded him of me. Only because I grew up in a trailer park and I only shopped at thrift shops. Not to mention, even though I could afford name brand clothes now, I still will only go to a thrift shops cause that other stuff is just not worth the expense in my book. Anyways, this is me being a "Bored Cold Ass Honky" and lip singing in my own foolhardy way. Go ahead and leave insulting comments cause frankly, I wouldn't give a flying frick.

This is basically a "Part 2" of the my original blog post: 10+ Serial Killers that Songs are Inspired By. I might be fascinated by serial killers a little too much and have decided to find 10+ more of these sick bastards that songs are inspired by. Enjoy!

These crimes were committed in the hills of Los Angeles, California during a four month period from late 1977 to early 1978. There was 10 known victims altogether. Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono were charged with these crimes and were sentenced to life in prison  On September 21st, 2002, Angelo Buono died of a heart attack in Calipatria State Prison of the California Department of Corrections, where he was serving a life sentence. #2 Jerry Brudos

Jerry Brudos was an American serial killer and necrophiliac, also known as "The Lust Killer" and "The Shoe Fetish Slayer". Since a young age, Brudos had a fetish for woman's shoes and underwear. The rumor is that this might of been brought on by his own mother, who originally wanted a daughter and would dress Brudos in girls clothing, as well as, treating him with disdain along with constant abuse. Between 1968 and 1969, Brudos bludgeoned and strangled 4 young women in Salem, Oregon. He kept trophies of his victims, including two pairs of amputated breasts that he used as paperweights and the left foot of his first murdered victim, Linda Slawson, in which he used to model the footwear he collected. After murdering these poor women, he would dress up in high heels and masturbate. Later on, Brudos confessed to murdering four women and was sentenced to life in prison. On March 28, 2006 Jerry died in prison of liver cancer.

"Fatal Foot Fetish" – Macabre

#3 Richard Chase

Richard Chase was a American serial killer who was nicknamed "Vampire of Sacromento". Chase was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and received his nickname because he would consumed the blood of his victims and cannibalized their remains. In 1975, Chase was involuntarily committed to a mental institution after being taken to a hospital after injecting rabbit's blood into his veins. This is where diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and went through a variety of treatments and was prescribed a bunch of medications. However, his mother helped him escape, weaned him off the medication, and got Chase his own apartment. Because of this, in a span of a month from December 1977 to January 1978 is when Richard committed his murders with a .22 handgun. In 1979, Chase stood trial on 6 counts of murder. In order to avoid the death penalty, the defense tried to have him found guilty of second degree murder, which would result in a life sentence. Their case hinged on Chase's history of mental illness and the suggestion that his crimes were not premeditated. On December 26, 1980, a guard checking cells found Chase lying awkwardly on his bed, not breathing. An autopsy determined that he committed suicide with an overdose of prison doctor-prescribed antidepressants that he had saved over several weeks.

Before this, around 1894 and received a number of short prison sentences for various crimes, including theft and arson. As a youth, he was employed by the local dogcatcher, a job which allowed him to indulge in cruelty to animals. Kürten progressed from torturing animals to attacks on people. He committed his first provable murder in 1913, strangling a 10-year-old girl during the course of a burglary. His crimes were then halted by World War I and an eight-year prison sentence. In 1921, he left prison and moved to Altenburg, where he got married. In 1925, he returned to Düsseldorf, where he began the series of crimes that would culminate in his capture, sentence to death and execution. #8 Leonard Lake & Charles Ng

Leonard Lake was an American serial killer who committed his crimes with the Chinese-American serial killer, Charles Ng. They both are believed to have raped, tortured, and murdered between 11 and 25 victims  at Lake's ranch in Calaveras County, California. Lenonard was reportedly a bright child, but had an obsession with pornography that stemmed from taking nude photos of his sisters, apparently with the encouragement of his grandmother. It was also alleged that Lake extorted sexual favors from his sisters. Later on in life, Lake appeared in amateur pornographic movies, usually involving bondage or sadomasochism. In 1983, he met Charles Ng in Hong Kong and the two stroke a friendship . Ng was actually born in Hong Kong and was the son of a wealthy executive. As a child, he was harshly disciplined and abused by his father. As a teenager, Ng was described as a troubled loner and was expelled from several schools. Developing this friendship with Lake later involved Ng being his accomplice in filming themselves torturing and raping their victims. The crimes became known in 1985, when Lake committed suicide after being arrested and Ng was caught shoplifting at a hardware store. Police searched Lake's ranch and found human remains. Ng was identified as Lake's partner in crime. He stood trial in 1998 on twelve counts of murder and was convicted on February 24, 1999, of eleven: six men, three women and two male infants. He was sentenced to death. Ng is currently on death row at San Quentin State Prison.

#9 Richard Ramirez

Richard Ramirez is an American serial killer that was known as "The Night Stalker". Ramirez was found guilty of 13 counts of murder, 5 attempted murders, 11 sexual assaults and 14 burglaries. However, authorities believe he may of committed more murders than he was charged for. It is rumored that Ramirez may have been influenced into killing by his cousin, Mike, who shot and killed his wife, and her blood spattered on Ramirez's face. Ramirez was 13 years old at the time. After the murder, his behavior changed dramatically; he dropped out of school, began using drugs, adopted odd sleeping habits, and started being involved in burglaries. On June 28, 1984, his burglaries turned into something far more evil. This is where he started to rape and kill his victims. The act of killing actually sexually aroused Ramirez, and sometimes he would have sex with the corpse of his victims before leaving. He was later captured on August 31, 1985 because his fingerprint was found on the mirror of a vehicle in which he had stolen and the description of the car came from one of his rape victims. Ramirez was identified, chased, surrounded, and severely beaten by an angry mob in East Los Angeles as he was trying to steal a car. Police broke up the mob, preventing them from lynching Ramirez. During the penalty phase of the trial on November 7, 1989, he was sentenced to die in California's gas chamber, in which still to this day, he is on death row awaiting execution.

#10 Gary Ridgway

Gary Ridgway is an American serial killer known as the "Green River Killer". Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Ridgway is believed to have murdered at least 71 women near Seattle and Tacoma, Washington. His court statements later reported that he had killed so many, he lost count. Ridgway began each murder by picking up a woman, usually a prostitute. He sometimes showed the woman a picture of his son, to help her trust him. After having sex with her, Ridgway strangled her from behind. He initially strangled them manually. However, many victims inflicted wounds and bruises on his arm while trying to defend themselves. Concerned these wounds and bruises would draw attention, Ridgway began using ligatures to strangle his victims. Most victims were killed in his home, his truck, or a secluded area. Most of the bodies of these victims were dumped in the wooded areas near the Green River. On November 30, 2001, as he was leaving a truck factory where he worked, he was arrested for the murders of four women whose cases were linked to him through DNA evidence. Ridgway was initially convicted of 48 separate murders, but as a part of a plea bargain wherein he agreed to disclose the whereabouts of still-missing women, he was spared the death penalty and received a sentence of life imprisonment without parole. Gary Ridgway is currently incarcerated at Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, Washington.

10+ Serial Killers that Songs are Inspired By

I tend to watch horror movies so often that most fail to actually scare me anymore. So for a little horrifying thrill I started to watch documentaries and reading online articles, educating myself on actual frightening stories about serial killers. Which because of this,  now I tend to double lock my doors and I keep a gun underneath my bed, because frankly, truth is scarier then fiction. So, for Monster Music Monday I decided to provide you with songs that were inspired by real life serial killers. However,  I only listed the songs I enjoy myself, there are many more out there.

Searching the house, authorities found:  four noses, whole human bones and fragments, nine masks of human skin, bowls made from human skulls, ten female heads with the tops sawn off, human skin covering several chair seats, Mary Hogan's head in a paper bag, Bernice Worden's head in a burlap sack, nine vulvae in a shoe box, a belt made from female human nipples, skulls on his bedposts, a pair of lips on a draw string for a window-shade, and a lampshade made from the skin from a human face. He was found guilty of first-degree murder, but because he was found to be legally insane, he spent the rest of his life in a mental hospital. On July 26, 1984, Gein died of respiratory failure at the age of 77 in Stovall Hall at the Mendota Mental Health Institute.

He was convicted of the murders through the joint-responsibility rule, which makes each member of a conspiracy guilty of crimes his fellow conspirators commit in furtherance of the conspiracy's objective.
Manson believed in what he called "Helter Skelter," a term he took from the song of the same name by The Beatles. Manson believed Helter Skelter to be an impending apocalyptic race war, which he described in his own version of the lyrics to the Beatles' song. He believed his murders would help precipitate that war. Manson's death sentence was automatically commuted to life imprisonment when a 1972 decision by the Supreme Court of California temporarily eliminated the state's death penalty.California's eventual reinstatement of capital punishment did not affect Manson, who is currently incarcerated at Corcoran State Prison.

Theodore Bundy was an American serial killer, rapist, kidnapper, and necrophile who assaulted and murdered numerous young women and girls during the 1970s and possibly earlier. After more than a decade of denials, he confessed shortly before his execution to 30 homicides committed in seven states between 1974 and 1978; the true total remains unknown, and could be much higher. After several prison escapes, Bundy was finally recaptured and he received three death sentences in two separate trials for homicides he committed in Florida. Ted Bundy died in the electric chair at Raiford Prison in Starke, Florida, on January 24, 1989. Biographer Ann Rule described him as "a sadistic sociopath who took pleasure from another human's pain and the control he had over his victims, to the point of death, and even after."

#9 Ian Brady & Myra Hindley

Brady and Hindley were serial killers in England and their murder streak was known as the "Moor Murders". They abducted their victims, who were boys and girls aged 10-17, with simple ruses. After forcing them into their car, Brady would rape them and kill them either by strangling them with a piece of string (possibly a shoelace) or by slitting their throats. The bodies were then buried on the Saddleworth Moor. Before killing Lesley Ann Downey, they forced her to pose for photos and even tape recorded her torture. When they killed Edward Evans, Brady beat him to death with an axe and then strangled his lifeless body with an electrical cord. As the death penalty for murder had been abolished while Brady and Hindley were held on remand, the judge passed the only sentence that the law allowed: life imprisonment. Brady was sentenced to three concurrent life sentences and Hindley was given two, plus a concurrent seven-year term. Myra Hindley has died in hospital from a serious chest infection following a suspected heart attack in 2002 and Ian Brady is currently being held at the high security Ashworth Hospital on Merseyside. As of 2011, Brady was the longest serving prisoner in England and Wales.
